Why Buy Air Filters From Filter King?

Image

In comparison to fiberglass filters, 14x20x1 pleated air filters are at least 20 times more effective. All Filter King air filters are made in the US.

Filters frames are made out of heat resistant paperboard with horizontal grid supports. Able to withstand temperatures of up to 200° F and resistant to moisture, the paperboard frames do not support microbial growth and outperforms traditional cardboard frames.

Chemical free, electrostatically charged synthetic polyester media is pleated, maximizing the surface area, to capture a high number of airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns with low air flow resistance. To increase durability, the media is supported with a corrosion resistant steel wire.

How Often to Change Your 14x20x1 Air Filter?

Filter King AC & furnace filters aren’t the typical fiberglass filters that need to be replaced every 30 days. Our filters can typically be used for 3 to 5 months before requiring to be changed. Naturally, a variety of things influence filter lifespan.

Some of the factors that influence your filter’s life include outdoor air quality, whether pets are in the home, and how well your HVAC system is maintained.

Your air filter becomes clogged over time by trapped particles, preventing airflow. The efficiency of the HVAC filter declines. Your system must work harder to heat and cool your home. The extra strain on the HVAC system causes higher energy bills. Regular home air filter replacements can prevent expensive system repairs or replacements down the road.

You should change your filter more frequently if you notice:

  • Household dust build-up
  • The air isn’t cooling as is used to
  • There’s more dust near the air vents
  • A dirty filter surface
  • Higher energy bills
  • Burning smells near your HVAC system.

14x20x1 Air Filter

The average home needs air filters in order to make sure that the air coming inside does not bring any harmful particles as well. Our premium 14x20x1 size filter is able to fit into HVAC and heating & cooling systems alike to cleanse out incoming airflow.

Once installed, the air filters tight mesh weaving is able to trap and absorb passing airflow letting cleaner air flow passes through before it affects the rest of an HVAC system. Fresh airflow is let through a clean filter, but the particles it blocks eventually begin to build up and require replacement. Eventually, a dirty air filter becomes a blockage in the HVAC system leading to costly issues that are avoidable by installing new ones.

Air Filter Use for Residential Homes

The heating or cooling system for your home does not automatically come in that way, it is filtered first before distribution. The home’s environment determines just how much filtration is needed, with some areas facing high levels of pollutants or allergens.

Air conditioner air filters prevent indoor air quality from lowering due to incoming irritants from the outside of your home. The longer your filter is in place, the dirtier it becomes over time and the more problems that result.

The home needs clean air filters so that air passing through it is not interrupted or blocked entirely. When new air is unable to cycle in, then your home may have issues with the stagnation that may lead to the development of breathing problems.

Air Filter Use for Apartments

The air system for an apartment is particularly important due to the smaller space and required airflow from the HVAC system. When the air filter for an apartment is dirty, then the resulting lack of airflow is both uncomfortable and possibly dangerous. Airflow works to bring in fresh air as much as it helps by cycling old air out.

For apartments with resident smokers or pets, smoke and dander are airborne microparticles that are best filtered out of the air before they have a chance to settle. New, clean air filters prevent problems by filtering air effectively while also letting air flow pass without any problems.

In order to keep your HVAC systems running at optimal performance, change your filter every 90 days. This will also help keep your energy costs low.

14x20x1 Furnace Filter

The furnace filters for your home are used to clean up heated air flow before it enters a duct system. The heating system works by having fresh air pumped into the furnace before it is heated, the air then travels through your filter before distribution. When a heating system lacks air filters, then the ducts in your home may quickly begin to fill up with micro and large particles like household dust and dust mite debris. Air filters protect your home and the air system, but they require consistent replacement filters in order to prevent costly issues.

When the furnace filters in a system are dirty, then the problems that result are inconvenient and possibly even dangerous. Dirty filters mean blocked air flow, which is even more of a problem when the air flow is being consistently heated. Your home’s temperatures from room to room fluctuate when the heating system cannot push its air flow forward. Filter blocks become dangerous when the furnace begins to cause a spike of temperature over time. When the furnace becomes too hot the damage could be severe, leading to a possible system shutdown.

Air Filter Best Changing Practices

Air filters need consistent maintenance in order to make sure that your system is working at its full potential. The rate of replacement filters is more accurately gauged by taking your home’s environment and the filter’s MERV ratings (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) into account. Home’s in areas or with residents that produce harmful particles are more likely to cause air filters to last less time. The filter’s ability to trap unwanted air particles like dust mite debris, household dust, mold spores, etc is determined by its MERV rating, where the mesh weaving is rated based on efficiency.

Our 14x20x1 size model filter is capable of blocking out a range of different air particles only microns in size. Filter King Premium filters rank as an 8 on the MERV scale, meaning that they block out particles while still allowing air flow to efficiently pass. Our air filters are able to block out intruding or problematic particles including:

  • Pollen
  • Household Dust
  • Mold Spores
  • Dust Mite Debris
  • Bacteria
  • Pet Dander
  • Smoke
  • Large Particles
  • Virus’s

Replacing an Old Filter

When you need to replace an old filter, then the process is easy and simple to do. You first need to find the filter, the location of which is in the owner’s manual for an air HVAC system. Once found, take out the filter and read the size off of the cardboard edge so that the replacement matches the original. Order a new filter, and then replace the old filter in order to enjoy fresh, cleaner air flow.
