How Often Should I Change My American Standard Filters?

If you are an individual living alone without any pets, then you can change your filter every three months. If you have pets in your home, then you want to consider changing your filters every 30 to 60 days, depending on how much they shed.
If you or a member of your family have allergies, or you have more than one free pet, then you’ll want to change your filters every 30 days.
For rental properties and vacation homes that aren’t occupied every day of the year, you can generally go six months to a year without changing the filter however because these units tend to not be monitored as closely they can have other issues that go on notice.
