Lennox Air Filters and Furnace Filters

In 1895, American inventor David Lennox, created the design for the first riveted-steel furnace. Thus, he paved the way for newer and better ways of safely heating homes and buildings during the coldest months of the year. Later on as air conditioning became a newer and growing technology, the company continued to keep up by inventing and providing customers with high-quality air conditioning units. Today millions of customers all over the world are more comfortable indoors and can enjoy better air quality because of the engineering and innovation at Lennox International. If you have a Lennox unit and want more information on filters, then you’re in the right spot.

How Do Filters Work?

Engineering filters for maximum effectiveness, energy efficiency and air quality is a difficult task. In order to prevent particles from going into your home, a tightly woven filter is needed to trap even the smallest of contaminants. Pleated filters have more surface area and can collect more particles.

The downside is that with more weaving, less air can flow through. This can drive up your energy costs as you will need to blast your furnace or air conditioning unit in order to achieve a comfortable temperature in your home. This is why it is important to speak to your representative about what level of air quality you need, and what type of unit you have. If you are an individual without allergies, then a less expensive filter may work for you. If you have allergies but will regularly change your filter, then your Lennox representative can help you find economical solutions to keep you and your family healthy.

How Often Should I Change My Filter?

Every 1-3 months. If you have allergies or more than one pet, however, then it is advisable to change it every 30 days.

How Do Furnaces Work?

Initially filters were created to protect the inner mechanisms of furnaces, not to improve air quality. But as technology improved more people were spending time indoors, because it was more comfortable. Consumers became aware of how many chemicals are in their home and how air quality can be affected by smoking, cooking, hair sprays and cosmetics. Companies like Lennox have been helping consumers enjoy fresher air and better health through superior technology and products.

Your furnace has two sides. On one side is your return duct and on the other side is the supply duct. This is true whether you have an upflow furnace or downflow furnace. The furnace filter always goes on the return duct side. Most of the time the filter will be located right by the furnace itself, but there are times where the filter can be in another location such as a wall. Furnaces are designed to filter the air before it is heated and then distributed throughout your home.

Filter King is not only an authorized dealer of Lennox filters, but we provide fast delivery direct to your home. We also provide replacement reminders unique to your home and air quality goals. So, call Filter King today to order your Lennox air filters and furnace filters!
