How Much Do Goodman Air Filters And Furnace Filters Cost?
Goodman filters generally come in two packs which can range from $50 to $70 (or $25-$35 per filter) depending on which ones you need for your unit. Goodman products are made to last, and a Goodman media filter has a life expectancy of over two years.
Furnace filters keep your air-conditioning system and ducts clean but they don’t do much for air quality. In order to improve air quality, you need to use a media filter, which is placed between the main return duct and the blower cabinet. This will remove dust and other particles up to seven times more than using a standard furnace filter. And upgrading to a pleated media filter can remove even more particles from the air, such as airborne viruses. The downside to using a Goodman media filter is that the tight weaving of the filter prevents airflow, so your furnace will have to work harder to distribute warm air throughout your home. The tighter the filter, the more capable it is of preventing even the tiniest of particles to pass through, such as viruses.
This is why it is important to speak to your Goodman representative before purchasing a filter so that you can be sure that you choose one that matches your blower’s capacity.
What Happens If I Don’t Change My Filter Regularly?
Consequences of not changing your air filter vary. First, you may eventually notice a reduction in warming capabilities and your house will become colder. Or, in the warmer months, you will notice that the air conditioning unit is not cooling properly. The system can actually freeze up from airflow being blocked, and you’ll have a house of sweaty people. Not changing your air filter can eventually lead to your air conditioning and furnace unit breaking and needing either costly repairs or to be replaced. It makes sense to buy affordable filters rather than spend hundreds of dollars on system repairs or replacements.
